Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Swollen Inner Thigh And Groin With Tight Muscles Mean Hernia?
I had a hip replacement 3 years ago. I ve experienced tightness this the muscle down the front of my thigh. My thigh is visibly swollen especially on the inner thigh, and I have swelling in my groin area on the right side. I ve seen my Ortho surgeon and the replacement is fine. He thinks I have a hernia. I ve had breast cancer (16 years ago). My concern is the swelling in the area of the lymph nodes.
Check whether the swelling pulsates with every forceful cough and check whether it is reducible/not...If its not reducible/not pulsating with forceful cough, it might be rarely a Hernia...It may be a lymph node swlling. If so check your Blood ESR, CRP, Blood count...Thank you
