Could Swollen Lymph Node Be A Sign Of Sexually Transmitted Diseases?
I have ONE single swollen lymph node under my left arm, swelling has appeared to go down. I have had it for about 5 days now. It is the only symptom I am exhibiting after a risky choice with a different sex partner than usual. All we did was oral, I ended up getting some of the sexual fluid in my mouth. I did not swallow and 15 minutes after I used mouth wash and took a shower. That was about two and a half to three weeks ago. The reason why it bothers me is because a swollen lymph node is a sign of some STDs, specifically HIV. I am hoping that because I only have ONE swollen node and am exhibiting no other symptoms that it is not likely to be HIV.
Thank you for query.it is not clear about your other sexual history,HIV status of partner, duration of lymph node exact site, other symptoms. The symptoms suggested by you does not lead towards HIV.usually persistent 3 or more groups of lymph node enlargement is required to suspect HIV.it may be due to simple wound/infection also. Please consult doctor for diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
