Could Swollen, Stiff Knuckles After Wrestling Mean Broken Bone?
Hi, My son is a wrestler and is in his senior of high school. 2 weeks ago he jammed is middle finger while attempting a back hand spring. Landed on his hand wrong. Since then his middle knuckle has been swollen. His hand is still stiff. He can move it but not make a complete fist. He has wrestled 8 times since the injury and says it s ok as long as it s not hit. Is his hand potentially broken? Can he make the injury any worse if he continues wrestling like this? Thank you.
HI Well come to HCM If this is fracture part then it may require treatment accordingly and rest would be more important else this could be worse and may cause more swelling and pain, better to get done the x-ray for better treatment, hope this information helps, take care.
