Hi,

Biotin is unlikely to cause lower back problems. Biotin is a water soluble vitamin which gets dissolved upon entering into body and excreted in the urine. By taking 1000 microgram of biotin the excess of biotin gets excreted from the body.

However, by taking larger doses it may cause stomach upset, flushing, and skin allergy. Low back pain could be due some issues with your muscles, kidney or the nerves from the spine. Advised to consult your doctor for proper clinical examination and treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
