Could Taking Cetirizine Dihydrochloride Elevate SGOT And SGPT Levels?

Sir, are the SGOT and SGPT test readings increased if someone takes cetrizine dihydrocloride tablets frequently? I have been taking cetrizine tablets for last 5 years frequently. My SGOT (AST) and SGPT (ALT) test partculars are 101 u/l and 230 u/l respectively. Please advise.

There is no relation between cetrizine and altered liver function tests. Of course certain drugs can cause hepatitis (increase in sgot and sgpt) but cetrizine is less likely. You should repeat the test and worked up for other causes.
