General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I would advise you to take some other medicine like some GLIPTIN or metformin instead of PIOGLITAZONE,because it can lead to water retention and cause cardiac problems.
Consult your doctor for the advise and prescription.
Must take proper dietary control and do regular exercises long with meications.
Thanks

General & Family Physician Dr. Amarnath's  Response
pioglitazone on long term usage is suspected to be the cause of bladder cancer.but Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. you can change to some other medication with lesser side effects after consulting your doctor
