Hi,
It is possible that Claritin-D could be causing you to feel faint during exercise. This medication contains
pseudoephedrine, which is a decongestant that can increase blood pressure and
heart rate. When combined with exercise, this can put additional stress on the cardiovascular system and cause symptoms such as
chest pain,
shortness of breath, and dizziness.
It is also possible that your symptoms are not related to the medication, and could be caused by an underlying heart or lung condition. Given the severity and frequency of your symptoms, it would be advisable to consult with your healthcare provider to rule out any potentially serious conditions. Your healthcare provider may recommend further testing, such as an electrocardiogram (ECG) or
stress test, to evaluate your heart function.
In the meantime, you may want to consider switching back to regular Claritin or trying a different type of allergy medication to see if your symptoms improve. It is important to talk to your healthcare provider before stopping or changing any medications.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
