Could The IV In The Head Have Caused Eye Twitching And Squint?
my 15 month old son has down syndrome and was recently hospitalized for pnuemonia. while at the hospital they put an iv in his head and since he has been released he has had facial twitching and eye squinting.i was wondering if the iv had anything to do with this or if there is something else going on
Squinting of eyes occurs when the vision in both the eyes are not equal or the vision is very low and so the eyes will deviate from its normal position and cause squinting. Also facial twitching is related to hyperactivity of facial nerves. An iv cannot cause such symptoms but the problem might be there and it had came to notice after the Iv.In any of the cases better to consult a doctor and get eyes checked and avoid the complications.
Hi IV in head is usually applied in superficial scalp veins . It is nothing serious. It should not cause the side effect like this. Better to consult the treating specialist again.
