Could The Fatigue And Fever Be Related To The Bee Sting?

My son was stung by a honey bee yesterday at 11am. He developed a fever at about 10pm and complained of muscle weakness. He had ibuprofen and woke up feeling much better (70%, he said). His bee sting location is swollen, itchy, and red. At around 2pm today he began complaining again of muscle weakness and fatigue. His fever did not return and he has no other symptoms of illness (no sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, ear ache, head ache, etc.) Question 1. Could the fatigue and fever be related to the bee sting? Question 2: While he has no sign of a rash, we live in lyme-disease area and I wonder if this could be symptoms of lyme disease?

Hi

Antihistamines and steroids may be required inorder to reduce the local symptoms such as swelling and redness.Ibuprofen may not be sufficient.

Since there is lyme disease prevalence in the area and since characteristic rash may not always be present ,western blot test may be required to rule out the disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
