Could The Feeling Of Stabbing In Heart Be Due To Severe Depression?
my brothers daughter has left home to live with her boyfriend he told her that he feels like he has been stabbed in the heart and has been betrayed and no longer wants anything to do with her but her mother is fine with it all, Have you any explanation for this please, Cheers Dean
Stabbing in the heart can be related to palpitations. Palpitation is a sensation that the heart is racing or pounding. Its causes include stress as well. To relieve palpitations, it helps to avoid caffeine, nicotine, cold medicines that contain pseudo-ephedrine, energy drinks and stimulants such as cocaine or amphetamine. Reducing stress and getting regular sleep and exercise may also help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manreet Benipal, General & Family Physician
