Could The Increase In Weight And Swelling In Legs Be Due To The Lowering Of Thyroxin Dosage?

ive been taking 175mg of thyroxin and just under 4 weeks ago after a blood test he reduced it to 150mg can you explain why. Ive been taking thyroxine for about 12 years now and since the reduction in my dose ive put on some weight and my ankles are swelling up

Dose of thyroxine is adjusted according to thyroid hormone status (after carrying out blood tests regularly)
At 175mcg you might have over-treated thyroid (checked by blood test) so your doctor reduced the dose so that your thyroid is normalised instead of being hyperactive.
