Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could The Injection And The Oral Medicine Have Any Side Effects On Her Considering The Medicines She Is Already On?
My wife has a very low level of Vitamin D ( 5.3 ng ). She is 57 yrs, has high BP and high Cholesterol for last 20 years and is on medicines for these diseases. Doctor has prescribed Inj. Arachitol 6,00,000 Unit ( 1 shot ) and weekly oral dose of Calcirol thereafter for 12 weeks. Please advise if the injection and the oral medicine do have any side effects on her considering the medicines she is already on.
There is no significant effect of these vitamin D supplements on her current medicine. She can continue both things together. Otherwise healthy lifestyle and morning sunlight exposure will be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar Makode
