Could The Lap Band Adjustment Cause Gagging In Sleep?
The last 2 nights I have been gagging in my sleep. What causes this condition? I had just had my Lap Band adjusted the other day; do you think that this could have caused it? I was prescribed muscle relaxers for my back do to a car accident. Help me!
Those episodes can be due to lap band surgery predisposing to regurgitation of food and its passing in the airways. It is a possible complication, adjusting it may have made food passage more difficult. You should try eating in smaller portions, masticating food very well and not eat before going to sleep. Sleeping at a 30-degree angle is advised as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
