Could The Low FL To BPD Ratio Indicates The Possibility Of Down Syndrome?

I had an ultrasound done 18w6d, bpd 4.43cm, fl 2.56cm with fl/bpd ratio only 0.58. It's a lot lower than the "normal range" I found online. Is this an indication of possible down syndrome? My blood test shows 1 in 110 chance of down. I am quite concerned. Thank you.

Welcome to HCM
This is Dr Amit. Let me help you in this case
Earlier the actual to expected Femur Length ratio (FL), the biparietal diameter (BPD)/Femur Length(FL ratio) was included for the diagnosis of down syndrome.
In Down syndrome both the femur and the humerus tend to be shortened.
If the ratio is below 0.84 the likelihood of Down syndrome is higher. In your case it is 0.58.
But nowdays NUCHAL TRANSLUCENCY thickness is used in detecting Down syndrome fetuses. So i will advice you to carry out nuchal translucency along with The triple marker screen test which analyze alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), and estriol for the screening of Down syndrome.
Feel free to ask if you have any have any doubts
