Could The Spot On The Lungs Be Due To Scar Tissue?
My dad had throat cancer and had his voice box removed a year ago. They did a cat scan last week and found some spots on both of his lungs. I know throat and lung cancer are usually the same kind of cancer but I was wondering if there could be a chance that the spots could be something else like an infection, scar tissue or anything.....holding onto hope.
Hello Usually throat cancer means cancer in larynx or pharynx ( because this is most common site of cancer in throat). The spots in lungs may be metastasis of throat cancer ( spread of cancer from throat to lungs ) and this is most common. In a cancer patient that too in throat , detected mass in the lungs is nothing but cancer . I am sorry to say but truth is this . Good luck.
