Could The Titanium Rod In Femur Be The Cause For Pain While Walking And Running ?

Hi, I am 28 years old and have had a titanium rod in my femur with 4 screws (two in knee, and 2 at hip) for 7 years... I am curious why I have pains walking, running... I used to run 5 miles a day and now it just hurts too bad.. I try to start slow and work my way up but the pain is terrible.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are having titanium rod in femur . Now you are having pain. However it is unlikely to having so much pain due to rod .But I will suggest you to get this rod removed after confirming by x ray that your femur has united. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
