Hi,

As you have not taken the second dose of Depo-Provera, the possibility of pregnancy cannot be excluded.

So, better go for a urine pregnancy test once to rule out the possibility of pregnancy.

If the test gives a negative result, should consider other causes of scanty menstrual flow like:

-After stopping hormonal contraception, it may take sometime for regularization of menstrual cycles and flow.
-Psychological factors like stress and strain, food and dietary or exercise changes, etc. can also affect the menstrual flow by affecting the reproductive hormonal levels.
-Poly cystic ovarian disease, anemia, thyroid hormonal abnormalities etc.

Investigations like hemoglobin levels, blood sugar levels, thyroid profile, serum prolactin levels, ultrasound, etc. can help in finding out the possible cause of the problem and treatment can be taken accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri SR
