Could Thin, White Discharge Be Recurring Yeast Infection?
I had a yeast infection about 2 weeks ago (as per gram stain it was +1) and now I have this thin white discharge that if you roll it, it would be like a small rolled wet tissue. I also have occasional itching but its not instense. Could it be that I have yeast infection again?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
hi, I understand your concern. Yes, the white discharge with itching you have is most likely to be yeast ( fungal)infection- It has tendency to recur again & again unless treated adequately. -Few of the fungi can hide in folds of vaginal mucus membrane& restart functioning after the medicines are withdrawan. - THe yeast infection is transffered between two sex partners during sexual contact- so treatment of both partners followed by rigorous efforts to avoid reinfection is needed to avoid reinfection. Thanks.
