Could Thyroid Problem Raise The Sugar Levels?

my sugar level readings have been fairly high recently. first test in the morning with out breakfast the reading is 6.5/6.2. I have recently been putting on weight, even though my diet has not changed. I wondered if having a thyroid problem could raise the sugar levels

Hello,
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The thyroid problems do not cause high blood sugar.
Indirectly, untreated hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid may cause weight gain and while gaining weight people who are predisposed for Diabetes may have fasting glucose intolerance.
I would recommend to check the HbA1c level and treated the thyroid pathology.
