General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to carpal tunnel syndrome. Pain and tingling sensation will be more in distribution of median nerve ( thumb, index finger and middle finger). Nerve conduction studies and MRI will give a clear picture of it. Splinting wrist at night and local cortcosteroid injections will be helpful for pain relief. But if the condition is not improving and affecting your quality of life then surgical decompression of nerve can be considered. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
