Could Tiredness And Mood Swings Be Due To Low TSH Levels?
I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid two years ago started on 25mgs increased over time to 100mgs been well for 12 months and then felt tired and mood swings returned three months ago. Repeat bloods showed my TSH to be low 0.09 an thyroxine reduced to 75mgs and cholesterol increased from 5.4 to 7. Would this explain my tiredness, mood swings and cholesterol? Thank you
Hi dear user I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Tiredness, mood swings and increased cholesterol level are simptoms and signs of hypothyroidism. This means that you probably need a more attentive dosage adjustment of Levothyroxine. Your TSH is low ,probably due to over-treating(Hyperthyroidism) and this do not excplain you actual symptoms, for this reason i suggest to see your treating doctor,to repeat one more time all the thyroid tests(TSH,free T3 ,free T4) in another lab, and after the results to decide for the right dose of Levothyroxine.
Hope i have answered to your question. If you have other questions ,i will be happy to help. Wish you good health.
