Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Tooth Infection Cause Persistent Nose Bleed?
I had a bad noise bleed that wouldn't stop and almost didn't make it throw it they had to give me blood and put a trak in me I have a infection in a tooth on the upper part of my mouth could that of caused the noise bleed there telling me it was from dry sinuses
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it is true that an infected upper back tooth can cause infection in sinus and there can be nasal discharge that can be mixture of blood and pus but in case if there is profuse nasal bleeding then the cause can be other than dental infection..
Dry sinuses can be one cause while other causes can be high shoot of blood pressure or traumatic injury to nose causing damage to artery..
Many a times individuals with blodd clotting disorders and those on anti-platelet agents or blood thinning medicines can also encounter severe nose bleeds..
I would suggest you to consult an EAR NOSE THROAT SURGEON and get evaluated so that the exact cause can be red out and treatment can be planned accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
