I recently learn that my sister in law had something. But was not sure what she had. which scare me and made me take a test at planned parenthood. i took a blood test and it came out negative. but two days later they called me and said that i have chlamydia. i know that chlamydia is transfer from sex unprotected. but the thing is i am happily married and been only with one person, who i believe is faithful to me as i am to him. i have always taken blood test and the most recent test i took was 4 months ago which came out negative. And a month before that i had a blood test and pap smear test which was also negative. is there any way that my sister in law could have used my razor and cut herself then pass it to me??
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I am afraid but it is really not possible to acquire chlamydia by sharing a razor. Chlamydia is an STD and the only way you could get chlamydia is by sexual contact with an infected partner. Another possibility, though a less likely one, is that your's is a false positive result. You may take up a repeat test from a different lab to rule out this possibility. Alternatively your husband may also take up a swab test for chlamydia. Whenever suspected or confirmed, chlamydia should be appropriately treated in both the partners, with a course of an Oral antibiotic, commonly doxycycline.
