Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Breast feeding mothers can be faced with delayed return of ovulation and hence menstruation, sometimes even upto a year.
The minimal safe period is 2 months after which it is possible for you to ovulate erratically with
irregular menstruation.
This is when you should start to use contraception after discussing with your
OBGYN about the best option for you.
As long as you breast feed, irregular cycles may occur.
There is nothing to worry.
Cycles return to normalcy once you stop breast feeding, sometime even before. It depends on person to person
Vaginal discharge with itching could mean a
fungal infection.
Once confirmed by your doctor this needs appropriate treatment and for a longer duration (if recurrent). Please consult your OBGYN regarding this.
Vaginal infection does not delay return of menstrual cycles.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
