Could Vaginal Spotting Be Due To Thickening Of Endometrium?

Was just told I have to go for a D and C. I have not had a period in two years and started with light staining yesterday. Gyno said abdominal and internal sono was normal just shows thickening in endometrial lining. i am scheduled for d and c on Tuesday. Is there any other reason besides endometrial cancer that could cause the staining? Or does this necessarily mean it s cancer?

Endometrial thickening always not associated with carcinoma but it may be the alarming sign for carcinoma. It is better to go for endometrial biopsy along with D and C to rule out the same. It may be due to hormonal imbalance as in your case you dont have periods since last two years . it may be due to some chronic disease like diabetes or obesity.
