Hello,
Your friend is suffering from
abdominal tuberculosis & is being treated for it. Now he has been prescribed Reheptin and after taking it he is suffering from vomiting and burning sensation. Side effects of some anti tuberculosis medicines may affect the liver and cause it damage. Get him clinically examined so that he has liver function tests, LFT & required blood tests done to evaluate liver function.
Vomiting may be indicative of liver dysfunction and burning sensation is suggestive of
acid reflux or
indigestion. Your friend should take boiled food and boiled water after cooling to help cure the pathology faster. He should not take spicy, oily food. Reheptin, is a combination of medicines and is effective in treating liver disease. This prescription medicine improves the functioning of the liver.
It contains, Metadoxine, Silymarin, L-Ornithine, L-Aspartate, Vitamin B6
Pyridoxine,
Folic Acid. He can take antacids to control acid reflux after consultation with his treating doctor. He should talk to his treating doctor regarding the symptoms he is experiencing and if he is unable to take the prescribed medicine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
