Could Waviness In Vision Be Due To Scar Tissue In Eye?

So..I was looking up causes and solutions for a "wavy eye." All of the answers involve migraine headaches. My retina specialist suggested that I might have a "leak" behind the retina and gave me a shot in the eye. What will the shot do? If it's not a leak, he thinks it might be scar tissue on the eye and might require surgery. Should I get a second opinion? No headaches associated. Just vision problems! Thanks for your advice.
