Could Waxing The Legs Be Causing High Fever, Body Aches And Sweats?

I have recently waxed my legs for the first time with wax strips and found that 2 days later, I came down with really really high fevers, constant body aches and shivers, sweats like never before and a general ill-feeling. I was bed-ridden for around 36 hrs, with no relief. But after this time I am back to normal with no signs of any on-going flu. It's like nothing happened.

My husband has waxed his legs in the past and also suffered the same fate shortly after. Is this realted to the waxing? And if so, is there any way around it?
