Could Weight Gain Have Resulted In Increased Back And Calf Pain?

Hi - I have a lower back problem & do as much walking & pain management possible for my problem. Over the last few months my calf my have started to ache. On a scale 1 - 10 I would rate it as at least a five during the day & worsens at night time. I have rubbed muscle tonics & creams on them but they don't seem to help. Admittedly I have put on approx. 5 kg because of my back problem.Hopefully you can help....

Hi,
You say you are doing much walking for your back pain-that means you are doing sufficient physical activity. so the weight gain seems to be due to some other cause, & not back ache.Obviously you should be concerned about such & get investigations /diagnosis/treatment for the same under expert's guidance.
Back ache can be due to spinal, joint problems as well as calcium & vitamin D defeciensy. This deserves investigations & orthopedic doctor advice for management.
Again calf pain might be due to excessive walking, calcium,Vitamin supplements will help.
Again rarely deep vein thrombosis can give rise to calf pain . such condition demands full rest to the leg & medications as per physician's advice.
Thanks
