hi Dr I have severe allergy and sneezing since 10 years.I tried so many medicines, but no good results.my absolute esonofi count is 500. Now one Dr prescribed Tab Banocide forte.I dont have any information about this tab.Could you please give me some information about this tablet.
Hello! Banocide's active principe is diethylcarbamazine. It's part of antihelmintics class of drugs. It is used to treat some infections from parasitic worms, one of which is tropical pulmonary eosinophilia, which i think is in your case. This conditions is caused by roundworm called Wuchereria Bancrofti. It happens frequently in the Indian subcontinent and other tropical locations. It involves predominantly the lungs and is characterised by cough, asthmatic attacks (wheezing and breathlessness)and eosinophilia. It is a drug that has few side effects, more frequent gastro-intestinal disturbances and fever, and rarely encephalopathy. The treatment needs to be at least for 14 days. I hope i have been of help
