Cramping In Stomach, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Weight Loss. CDC Shows Lymphs High And Immunoglobulin A Low. Concerning?
My daughter had the flu back in late March and ever since 3 wks there after she has had stomach cramping pain, on and off nausea, vomiting and or diarehea. She had a stool culture that was negative and a complete CDC which show her Lymphs high and Immunoglobulin A low. Her doctor never let me know if these 2 marker are ok and normal. My biggest concern is that she has lost 6 pds since 2nd wk okf April and is still having bouts of above symptoms. Can yo ulet me know what the blood work could indicate?
Lymphocytes elevated level indicates an inflammation. It can be located everywhere. Low IgA level can indicate coeliac disease. It is caused by gluten intolerance. It is some kind of autoimmune disease. The symptoms of it are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting (same mentioned by you). So this can explain your daughter symptoms. Other possible reason is chronic gastrointestinal infection caused by parasites. Inflammatory bowels disease like Crohns disease can also give similar sympotms.
I suggest you to visit gastroenterologist and have Coeliac disease ruled out. Stool tests for parasites should be also done.
