Cramps, Late Periods. Had Protected Sex. Did Having Sex Result In Late Periods?

Hello. Me and my boyfriend had sex, just about a week ago. By now I should have started my period, we always use condoms. After one time when we had sex once my period started a couple days later. I have been having cramps, like most women usually do before they start there period. Has the sex just pushed back my period or what?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your question here, I will try to answer it to the best of my abilities.

If you had protected sex and the condom didnt break, the chances of you being pregnant are pretty small. In all likelihood, your period is just running a couple of days late this month, this can happen due to changes you've made in your lifestyle. When someone is pregnant their periods arent just late, there are no periods till the pregnancy is over.

I hope this answered your question.

hello,
thank you for using health care magic,
well condom is not 100% safe..there are always some chances of pregnancy.. wait for week and then also if you dont get periods then take home pregnancy test. you can take more confirmatory test like beta hcg level or ultrasound..
sex does not cause delay in periods but there are many reasons which can delay your period except pregnancy.. like stress, heavy physical activity , exercise etc..
in future use o.c. pills if you want . and in case you have intercourse without using any birth control method then take i pill within 72 hours of intercourse and second dose after 12 hours..
hope this helps you,
