Hello, I have been experiencing problems with the inside corner of my eyes for the last 2 years. There is a crust that forms over my lacrimal caruncle that is difficult to remove, and returns throughout the day. The symptoms have fluctuated in time, but have included a slight stinging pain, redness, very small amounts of blood, and most recently a red rash on the skin just above my eye. I ve seen my PCP a couple times about it, he thought it was conjunctivitis (which I didn t think was the case). He prescribed Azelastine hydrochloride Ophthalmic drops which didn t help, then changed to Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride Ophthalmic drops that also didn t work. The symptoms have come and gone, flared up, started in one eye, went to the other, and now back to the one mostly. The symptoms started while on a trip to Hawaii. I had been swimming in a couple places that could have been less than sterile ie. manmade ponds in city park and high public use warm springs. Hawaii claims cases of Leptospirosis, but based on the pictures I ve seen, I don t think that is my affliction. Any thoughts on the matter, especially suggestions of natural remedies, would be appreciated.
