i cut the knuckle at the bottem of my index finger by slamming it into the bottom of a truck. the cut is deep but clean. i put a butterfly bandage on it to keep it closed and wrapped it, however it hurts a lot to bend the finger straight...is there a possiblilty of any sort of permanent damage or should it heal normallly.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain on bending the finger is suggestive of a tendon or ligament injury on the area. It is best to get an MRI scan done to detect the extent of damage and get it surgically repaired.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
