Cyst On Back, Swelling, Lump On Left Side Of Occipital Bone. Suggestions?
I have had a cyst on the right side of my back for a month now. Initially it appeared to be a spot but somebody tried to squeeze it and grew bigger and more swallen. Now the left side of my occipital bone appears to have a lump. It is really worrying me. The cyst has not been removed yet and I only discovered the lump last night. Please help?
There are many causes for cysts on the body.
Common causes include epidermoid cyst, trichelemal cyst or a simple cyst.
Besides a cyst it can be a soft tissue growth.
The exact nature of the lesion, an excision biopsy needs to be done.
Excision/ removal of the cyst and subsequent examination of the removed tissue will determine its exact nature.
However, a clinical examination of both swelling at the back and on the occiput needs to be done.
So, consult your doctor for further management.
Hope it helps.
