Cyst On Left Ovary, Growing In Size. Should I Meet Another Doctor And Confirm?
Hello Doctor, I have a cyst on my left ovary. The first time I found out was when I was in the emergency room, and I have been following up with my doctor. So far the cyst has grown some millimeters and I'm worried that It might get bigger what should I do, should I get a second opinion or just keep seeing my regular doctor. I'm 41 years old and no kids. help what should I do?
Hi, Usually cysts up to 2.5 cm in size are functional and unless the growth is rapid and associated with symptoms, there should not be much reason for worry. Nevertheless, it would be ideal to have a consultation with an expert and get regular follow-up with physical exam and trans-vaginal sonograms; blood tests for tumor markers may be needed if suggested by the doctor. You can go for a second opinion to clarify your doubts. Hope this helps. Wish you good health.
