Hi, I m a 51 year old male. There is a dark yellow colour to my urine (for about 4-5 weeks now) as well as a strong odor. If I drink a great deal of water it seems to get better, but does come back. In addition I ve noticed bad breat problems for about the same amount of time. I m not sure what to make of it or if it will go back to normal naturally?
The possible causes of dark or tea-colored urine are:
-Medications (anti-malarial, antibiotics, laxatives, muscle relaxants, etc.)
-Diet (beans, etc.)
-Infections (urinary tract infections can cause darkening of urine)
-Kidney conditions
-Liver disorders
Please consult a doctor at the earliest. If you are not diagnosed with any of the above conditions and are not on any medications, this is not normal.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
