Delay In Taking Birth Control Pills With Subsequent Delay In Periods. Could This Be A Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor, i'm on my birth control pills called loette. on the day 23rd i missed more than 12 hours but manage to took it on the 16 hours. But before i took it, my partner came inside of me. And the doctor told me i should be getting my period another 4 days. But today is the day and i didn't get my period. Is there any possiblity that i am pregnant.

Yes, there is a possibility that you are pregnant.
Please take a pregnancy test at the earliest.
Sometimes, even without a pregnancy, the period might be delayed / there might be scantier flow, which is common with birth control.
Once a pregnancy test is taken, you would be reassured.
Other causes could include - stressing out over professional or personal life issues, emotional turbulence, change in the pattern of eating / sleeping habits, recent and significant weight gain.
Conditions like hypothyroidism, polycystic ovaries etc need to be ruled out if irregular cycles become the norm, instead of a one - off incident.
