Delayed Period. Is This Due To I Have Taken Primolut-nor Tab. Chances Of Pregnancy?

Dear Doctor,

I have a menstural cycle of 25 days, i.e., on the 25th day I usually get my periods. My last cycle started on the 27th of June which was a delayed one (by 9 days) as I had taken Primolut - nor (twice a day) since I had some travel plans. The actual date was 18th of June.

Now as per the 25 days cycle, I was due to get my periods on the 21st of July which has not yet started.

Is my second cycle delayed as a result of using the medication?
If I am pregnant, will i get to know if I do a home test now or should I wait for a week more till I can get a confirmation?
Also what are the chances of becoming pregnant if I use spermicide Nonoxynol-9?

Hello,

Taking hormonal medication in previous cycle may delay your period for one week or more. Hormonal imbalance and mental stress are mostly associated with that.

Pregnancy depends on proper timing of unprotected sex and ovulation or fertile days. If you used sperimicide on those days, then chance of pregnancy is less enough.

Here, you need to undergo one home pregnancy test at the earliest to check pregnancy status. Blood test for beta-hCG is required after one week for confirmation in absence of period.

You can consult with your gynecologist following above test reports. Good luck.
