Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. 1 Irregular period , dysfunctional uterine bleeding , amenorrhea , gaining of weight , young age ( child bearing age) all are an indication of a disease known as Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease or pcod . Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of both ovaries . 2 Next reason of such type of symptoms may be due to any disease in uterus . Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of uterus for any fibroid or cyst 3 Hormonal imbalance may be the another reason . Diagnosis can be confirmed by blood examination for estrogen, androgen F S H / L H ratio. In my opinion for this irregular bleeding consult a gynecologist and get his opinion. Good luck. Dr. HET
