What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

Hi doctor. I had my periods ended on 31 Dec, then I had protected sex on 1st Jan but I thought to take a pill since the condom burst. then on 4th I had unprotected sex and still took a p2 pill, now my periods are late, but av done 2 pregnancy tests shows 1 line.what s the problem.

It depends when did you take the last pill I mean after how many hours of having unprotected sex? To be effective the emergency contraceptive pill has to be taken with in 72 hrs of having sex.
Following the use of contraceptive pills the rhythm of cyclical menstrual blood flow gets altered it will take time to achieve the regular pattern. So delayed period does not necessarily indicate that you are pregnant.
The urine pregnancy test done shows only 1 line is suggestive of negative result.
Take care because false negative results may occur if you use diluted urine or if it is done too early.......
