Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
If your wife is late for her period, and pregnancy tests are negative, then she is likely not ovulating. Most women ovulate on day #14 of their cycle (day #1 = the first day of her period). When ovulation occurs, there is a predictable withdrawl bleed 14 days later. She needs a complete workup of non-ovulatory cycles.
I hope that this helps. If you have more questions, please click on "ASK ME A QUESTION" link above to directly ask me a question!
Hello,
If your wife has always had regular cycles and is not on any contraception right now, the first thing you should suspect is pregnancy. As she is already several weeks late, it should show up in a trans-vaginal sonogram. If pregnancy is excluded by a sonogram, the other causes of this disturbance could be sudden weight changes, stress, infections, certain medications, hormonal imbalances due to polycystic ovaries, hyperprolactinemia and so on. You should see a specialist to know the exact cause. Take care.
