Delayed Periods With History Of Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Intake Of Contraceptive Pill And Light Spotting. Any Thoughts?
Hi , I had unprotected sex on the 6th and 7th November, (7 th was the last day of my period) took emergency contraception on the 7th, had extremely light spotting on the 14th and 15th. My period was due on the 4 th December but it never arrived. I took the same pill 3 years ago, and that time I had a normal period 2 days after having taken the pill. I don t have any pregnancy symptoms only that I have developed a coffee aversion! Could I be pregnant or are my hormones off kilter? Thanks!

There are no any chances of pregnancy because you had a unprotected sex on last day of period and that is not fertile period.
Mild spotting and irregular cycle is usually due to disturbed hormonal balance after taking contraceptive pills.
Now wait and watch for regular period.Avoid unprotected sex till get regular cycle.
Otherwise confirm pregnancy by urine pregnancy.
Consult gynecologist for further guidance and medical management.

The emergency contraceptive pill can at times cause an irregular menstrual cycle or a delay in periods, but this is only a temporary effect and should return to normal by your next cycle. If it does not then you may have to check for pregnancy and even report to a doctor.
