Hi, welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe you have used M.S.contin for 16 years, and now you are trying to get it off. You have come from 900mg to 45 mg, and now feeling the trouble.
Though not scientific i advise you some thing which i follow to my patients . Make it up to 100, and continue for for some time say 6 months, then go to your doctor for tapering the dose.
The process may help you. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery from contin. Thank you.
