Depression, Worrisome Nature Causing Difficulty In Sleeping, Concentrating. How Can I Get Over This?

Hello Doctor, Am 25years single woman, with height 153cm and weight 60kgs. I feel totally depressed at times and unless am really occupied, I keep thinking and worrying in vain. I am a closed person, so I don t like engaging in private conversations with friends. Though, my work consumes all my day. I keep worrying in whatever time is left to myself - about marriage, work, family-life. At times i find difficult to sleep and concentrate. Could you help?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
From the description you give of your symptoms, you could be suffering from depression and anxiety. Both of these conditions can be treated with psychotherapy, medication management, or both. If you are not comfortable with taking your problems to a therapist, then I suggest you consult a good psychiatrist in your area who can diagnose you properly and prescribe you the appropriate medication(s) to help with your presenting symptoms. There is hope out there and help as well. I hope this helps orient you to a possible solution and I certainly hope you feel better very soon.

General & Family Physician Dr. Sourav Ganguly's  Response
Hi nouveau.debut.frais.

Thanks for your question.

Fortunately i am doing MD in psychiatry.

You definately have a depressed mood but weather you have depression or not that can be known after some other features like-sleep,apetite,leathergy,guilty feeling, loss of all pleasurable activity, suicidal ideation etc.

So you should consult a psychiatrist urgently and if he/she feels then he will prescribe any antidepressant to you.
Thank you
