Developed A Bitter Taste In Mouth After Nose Cauterization For Severe Nose Bleeds. Is It Normal ?
I have developed a bitter taste in my mouth in the last few days. I am 71 years old, usually in good health. I have an artificial heart valve and take blood thinners. I recently have been treated for severe nose bleeds and have had my nose cauterized, and have been using nasal lubricants and a room humidifier to prevent further bleeding. The bitterness came on suddenly. Is there anything I can do now, or do I have to tough it out until my nose heals?
Hello, The bad taste could be because of the reflux disease . Or due to nasal blockage ie because of the clots which obstructs the area where smell is felt. You should use normal saline nasal sprays so that the nose is clean off and take care of reflux by taking domperidom and take precautions--- Keep head end of bed elevated. Avoid alcohol, Smoking Do brisk walking daily Go for walk after dinner Avoid spicy food Avoid late night coffee
