Developed Some Hard Skin On The Fingers. Could It Be Scleroderma Or Callus? What Does The Findings Mean?
my husband developed some hard skin on two of his fingers that are not in an area that rubs against objects a lot. could that be scleroderma? or could callus develop in a ring finger from taking it on and off? the other on is on the side of his thumb he sometimes wears a ring there too but not too often.
Your husband seems to have developed calluses due to repeated friction in certain areas of the hand.
Now what is most important is the elimination of the cause of the same. He should avoid wearing the rings in those two fingers as it will impair healing. Rest , he can soak his hands in warm water for five minutes daily and then with the help of a pumice stone rub the affected areas so as to remove the dead overlying skin. This should be followed by application of a moisturizer. I am sure this will help him.
