Deworming Children, What Could Be The Effective Medicine ?
Hi, my child is 4yrs. old and last Friday and Saturday, a tiny white little worm comes out from his anal and complaining itchiness. She is thin and does not have a good appetite. She s not sleeping well at night too. What could be the effective medicine for deworming should I give her Doc? Please help me!

Hi,thanks for query.In case of worm infestation de worming is must.There are couple of drugs are available in the market which are very effective single dose.Please at least give a second dose again after 6 months.It is better that according to the sensitivity to the drugs in your area you doctor prescribes the drug for your child.bye

From your description, I'm guessing that it might be a pinworm infestation.
Deworming would help in such a case.
I would prescribe
Susp. Zentel. (Comes in a 10ml bottle. 400mg/10ml).
Administer the entire 10ml orally to the child at one go.
Repeat the same after 1 month.

Hi,
You have to deworm the baby earliest. Please give Syrup Albendazol(eg. -syrup Eben or Syrup Mebex) 1 spoon twice a day for 3 days . Please repeate the dose once a month for atleast 3 months .
be careful about babies food &water intake (avoid contamination,cleaning hands while cooking &feeding the baby.)
Calcium &B. complex suppliments would be helpful.

Hey,
Does your child complain of itching around the anus also. Is she losing weight and has frequent loose motion. I would suggest you visit a Paediatrician and take oral medication to kill the worms. Also encourage a diet rich in fibre like fresh fruits and vegetables which must be PROPERLY WASHED before consuming. The food given to the child must also be PROPERLY COOKED and proper hand washing must be encouraged before eating meals.
