Hello
There are all the chances that you may be having TYPE 1 diabetes called as LATENT IMMUNE DIABETES OF ADULTS( LADA ) and is generally misdiagnosed as type 2 diabetes initially.
LADA is also called as diabetes type 1.5 and is a hereditary immune disorder where body mistakes pancreas as foreign and starts destroying it.
There are various tests which can be done to differentiate between type 1 or 2 diabetes. These are
Insulin cell antibody test( ICA )
GAD TEST
C-PEPTIDE TEST
Islet Cell IgG Cytoplasmic Autoantibodies tests
You must Consult a diabetologist and get the required investigations and diagnosis made so that a proper treatment can be instituted.
Thanks
