Diabetic, On Medication For Hypertension, Having Chills. Is It Due To Less Blood Circulation?

Hello, I am at home and my brother is visiting with me. He is having chills and not getting warm. This is his history & symptoms. Age 57 Type II Diabetic oral med Hypertension on med Occupation Farmer Four days had the 24 hr flu

currently chilling, temp 98.7 no known fever today current blood sugar 214 He is concerned he might have a problem with his circulation anything we should be concerned about please advise

Hi Kathleen,

Having chills might be related to any probable flu infection. Usually, such infection is related to elevated blood sugar.

Meanwhile, I'd suggest to

- monitor his blood glucose and blood pressure

- drink plenty of water, including tea

- take anti-pyretic medications

If his fever or health condition is aggravating, please check with the physician as he might need further treatment.
